When did you begin martial arts training?
I started in martial arts when I was 9 years old. My parents wanted me to join a sport and martial arts caught my eye.
Why did you choose to be a part of the Leadership Team at Hero?
I joined because I wanted to learn more about being a role model and an instructor.
What is your favorite phrase that you hear Master Butler use? Why?
“Do you feel the difference?” Because when he says that, it tells me that he is seeing the change in my technique that is what he is looking for.
What are some of your hobbies, sports, or other activities that you enjoy outside of martial arts?
I am in both symphonic band and marching band.
What is a life lesson that martial arts has taught you?
That I don’t need to prove anything to anybody as long as I know. That’s all I need.

My son is attending the academy since he was 4 years old, he is now 16 and he continues to be engaged and is very excited to attend his classes. For me, the main reason is that Master Mike is always working to provide value and to challenge him. I truthfully recommend Hero Academy!
My son has learned so much in his years at Hero Martial Arts. So much more than just martial arts - work ethic, respect, responsibility and leadership. Plus a staff that feels like family and goes above and beyond, especially in the last few topsy turvy pandemic years, to come up with creative ways to keep training and keep the kids engaged throughout.
Our son started as a Little Hero almost two years ago and loves coming to class. He has learned so much and we truly appreciate the patience you all have with him. He struggles with focus and Master Neibling nows the right words to help him refocus his energy. I joined the class last October and i am truly enjoying myself. I’m learning, trying and do things I have never done before and it feels great! We love it here!!!
